CHARITY Year in review

Despite yet another ‘stop start’ academic year, our school community raised a phenomenal amount of money for good causes. Albeit without ‘in person’ events, we kept spirits high and funds flowing. As a sign of the times, our infamous pre-loved uniform sales evolved into personal shopping experiences with driveway collections throughout the year…! In the Autumn Term, My Art Project brought our kids’ creativity to the fore, Diwali celebrations lit up the entire school, and our bespoke Advent calendars were a big hit. We launched a series of pupil-read storytelling videos during Black History Month and created ‘small business shoutouts’ to help parents promote their own companies at a time when it was impossible to network in person. All in addition to socially distanced selfies with Pudsey and remote raffles for MacMillan hampers. Throughout lockdown we supported the teachers in our key worker school with daily deliveries of baked goods for the staff room. We are so proud of how over 30 families contributed with homemade and shop bought treats alike. Whilst at home, the kids enjoyed a ‘PJ day’ and marked the end of homeschool zooms with Skittleman Live! We rounded off the school year with Sports Day entertainment, raffle prizes galore and a silent auction. And of course we gave our fabulous Year 2s a tremendous send off, with a glitter-filled silent disco and a swag bag each to remember their days atthe junior school. With one eye already on the next school year, we can only hope that better times lie ahead with the return of quiz nights and Parents Day and plenty more socialising for all school families.

"This money so generously raised will hugely impact the families we support. You've donated at a time when, now more than ever, we need to make it as easy as possible for families to help each other thrive. Plus we have loved seeing all the fun you've had in the process! Thank you, thank you and thank you again."
